Storage Tips for Small Bathrooms

Considering all the things we do in our bathrooms, it’s mildly frustrating how there just never seems to be enough space in it to fit our daily essentials and then some. Most homes’ bathrooms are the smallest in the house and storage is almost always a problem.

For those of you out there facing this problem and don’t have the budget for a bathroom remodel just yet, we hope these storage tips help you make the most out of your tiny bathroom.

Make the most out of the vertical space in your bathroom

 - adding mini bathroom racks and shelves can take up precious real estate in your bathroom. Instead of crowing the floor with these, use the vertical space in your bathroom for storage instead. Mount modular cabinets, ledges, or shelves on the wall to get extra storage space without taking up floor space in your already-too-small bathroom.

Choose multi-layered storage solutions

 - using baskets to organize products by the sink is okay, but you won’t be able to fit much on there, especially if you use lots of items for  your skincare routine or share the bathroom with another person/people. Instead of single-layer storage like baskets and bins, opt for multi-layered storage solutions for your bathroom. Mini drawers and stackable bins work great for this and they’re inexpensive and easy to find. You can also employ this trick for if you have tall under-the-sink cabinet space so it doesn’t go to waste.

Add door storage

 - speaking of cabinets in the bathroom, did you know that you can make those more functional by adding mountable storage on them? Just like your fridge door, your bathroom cabinet door can also be used for storage. Install a hairdryer holder there for easy and convenient hair dryer storage. Stick some command hooks for stuff like hairbrushes, mini pouches, and the like. You can even add a magnetic strip for items like bobby pins, scissors, tweezers, and other easy-to-lose things there.

Install a bathroom mirror with hidden storage

 - if you don’t already have one, install a bathroom mirror with hidden storage in your bathroom. These can easily house small things like medicine, skin care items, shaving paraphernalia, and more plus they barely take up any space. They’re functional in more ways than one so you’re sure to get the best bang for your buck as well.

Repurpose non-bathroom items for bathroom storage

 - just because it wasn’t made for the bathroom doesn’t mean it can’t belong there. Your kitchen towel holder can be used to store bracelets or scrunchies. That cute crystal candy dish you find in a garage sale once can be used to hold the jewelry you take off before you shower. That old CD rack? It can hold all your makeup palettes. And those mason jars from the kitchen? Perfect for storing cotton pads, cotton balls, q-tips, and more. Look around your home to find things that you can repurpose for bathroom storage. It’ll be like shopping for new stuff for your bathroom without spending anything.
