Realtor, real estate agent, broker -- whatever your title is, there’s one thing that’s for sure weighing on your mind right now: what to give your real estate clients to let them know how grateful you are for their business.
Gifting is a common practice in the real estate industry. Seasoned agents usually already have a list of go-to gifts for every type of client as well as one for colleagues, but what about newbies?
Check out this list of gift ideas you can give to your clients to show them just how much you appreciate doing business with them this year.
Idea 1: A holiday gift basket
This is a foolproof gift idea for all types of clients. The good thing about this is that you can customize it however you like. You can build one yourself or buy one that’s ready for gifting. You can make it a holiday-themed one if you don’t mind getting into the festive mood of the season, too!
Idea 2: Something personalized
Personalized gifts are always appreciated. They’re unique and they let your clients know you’ve been thinking about them during this busy season. Some amazing items to have personalized for gifting include wine glasses, towels, welcome mats, throw pillows with monogrammed initials, and house number signs (with or without their surnames, depending on how private you perceive them to be).
Idea 3: Tickets or passes to local attractions
This is especially perfect for clients who just moved into town and have yet to explore what their new city has to offer. And, because of the holidays, there will surely be tons of choices for you to pick from that will give them a fun and memorable time.
Idea 4: A smart home device
You already know they have an amazing home; you sold it to them after all. That doesn’t mean, though, that you can’t make it even better. Give your clients a smart home device like a Google Nest or a Roomba or whatever smart home device you have at home that you just can’t live without and let them have the same amazing experience. You just might convince them to go full digital in their new abode.
Idea 5: A painting of the house
Most homeowners won’t even think to get this done for themselves but it’s definitely a memorable gift that’ll make them go “Awww.” You don’t have to do it yourself; you can commission a talented artist to do this for you. You also don’t have to stick strictly to giving your clients a painting. It could be a sketch or charcoal drawing, or any form of art made with any medium that you like.
While gifts aren’t totally necessary, it’s a nice gesture to show your clients how thankful you are that they trusted you and gave you their business. Avoid giving gifts that are too promotional (eg pens with your name on them and anything that has your face plastered to it). You can save those for when you’re trying to introduce yourself and make a good and lasting impression.
