In the 1970s, a young girl was believed to have been killed by a car near the said amusement park. Although she has already been laid to rest, her ghost remains lingering around the theme park, asking guests for help. Some of the park visitors who have seen this little girl claim that she vanishes into the crowd as soon as they tried directing her.

Another one of the many spirits haunting Six Flags Over Georgia is that of a former actor who used to work in the park’s music hall,  Crystal Pistol. Rumor has it that the said man was on his way to work when he died so now he just haunts the place, slamming doors and running up and down the halls as if trying to catch people’s attention.

The Ellis Hotel

Located at 176 Peachtree Street, the Ellis Hotel in downtown Atlanta was once known as the Winecoff. The hotel was advertised as being “absolutely fireproof” which was one of the first buildings of its kind during the day. While it’s true that the hotel’s structure was definitely fireproof, however, its interiors were finished using combustible materials and. In 1946, the hotel caught ablaze which lead to the death of 119 people, most of which jumped to their death while others got swallowed by the fire.

Today, guests of the Ellis Hotel report hearing blood-curdling screams in the middle of the night. Some have also reported waking up to the smell of smoke, though there isn’t a fire anywhere nearby. According to many a tale told by people who have experienced staying in the hotel, the fire alarms would also often go off at exactly 2:48 AM which is the exact same time the 1946 fire broke out and killed lots of people.

Oakland Cemetery

No list of haunted places is complete without at least one cemetery and, for this list, it’s the Oakland Cemetery. Built in 1850 on six acres of land southeast of Atlanta, this cemetery is home to thousands of famous “residents” evidenced by the grandiose graveyards sprawled across the cemetery amidst lush landscaping.

It’s been said that people visiting the cemetery to be with their departed loved ones have seen confederate soldiers in uniform marching up and down, patrolling the grounds.
